Juneteenth Blackberry and Blueberry Picking

We’ll open for pick-your-own blackberry and blueberry picking on Thursday, June 19 (Juneteenth) at 8 am to 10 am. We will probably require reservations. We will post the links and instructions to make reservations at least 24 hours in advance.

Alternate date: If we get rained out in the morning, we will reschedule for Thursday evening at 6 pm – but the weather pattern lately has been rain in the afternoon and evening.

Blackberries are doing especially well this late in the season. Blueberries are ripening, but it’s been a struggle versus the birds.

Available for picking:

blackberries: thornless varieties including Ponca, Osage, Ouachita, Arapaho. Kiowa is thorny, but has excellent fruit.

blueberries: Mid and late-season rabbiteye varieties, Austin, Brightwell, Tifblue and Powderblue.

All berries are $10 a quart or $40 a gallon. You only pay for what you pick (no entry fee). We accept cash (preferred), Venmo, and credit cards.

We provide picking buckets and transfer the picked berries to take-home containers.

We are a no-smoking farm. We cannot allow pets into the orchard.

Waughsome Farm Golden Bucket owners can pick without an appointment (anytime during the open hours).

Alternate date: If we need to cancel due to weather, we will reschedule the pick for the following morning, Wednesday morning at 8 am.

The blackberries and blueberries are ripening well, but we are in their late season. We will only have two weeks or so of picking before the end of the season.
