Blackberry and Blueberry Picking

This picking session is cancelled. There’s been too much rain and the parking area is inundated. We will wait until Saturday, May 30 to open next. We are likely to require reservations for Saturday. We will post the link for Saturday reservations at 8 am Friday morning on our website and our Facebook page.

The good news is that there is a lot of ripe blackberries and blueberries in the orchard right now.

We’ll open the orchard for pick-your-own blackberry and blueberry picking on Wednesday, May 27 by appointment only starting at 6 pm. With the recent rain, our parking area is soft and we can only park so many vehicles. So we will require reservations in order to limit the amount of visitors. If it’s raining or lightning in the area we will close the orchard, although we may be able to wait out any passing storms. Bring your mud boots and possibly rain jackets.

One reservation per vehicle. Carpooling is encouraged!

Blackberries and blueberries are available for picking. It’s peak season and ripe fruit should be plentiful.

blackberries: thornless varieties including Arapaho, Osage, Ponca and Caddo. Kiowa is thorny, but has excellent fruit. Other varieties are starting to ripen.

blueberries: Southern highbush blueberries have been making for a few weeks and are very ripe. Early-season rabbiteye varieties are available including Climax, Premier, Austin, Brightwell. Pink Lemonade is just about picked out for the season.

New for 2026 season: we will start selling picked fruit by weight: $8 a pound.

Blueberries and blackberries are $8 a pound. You only pay for what you pick (no entry fee). We accept cash and credit cards. We no longer accept Venmo. When paying by cash, we round down to the nearest dollar.

New for 2026 season: we will start providing bags to put in the buckets. Then we will have an easy way to weigh the produce. You can take the bags home or transfer the picked berries to take-home containers. Frequent visitors may be interested in our Waughsome Farm Golden Bucket.

We are a no-smoking farm. We cannot allow pets into the orchard or parking area.
