Blackberry and Blueberry Picking

Weather update: We will open this morning. It’s been drizzling off and on, but it looks like the rain is holding off and will clear out for a while. Bring your mud boots and rain jackets! Those with later appointments should check the weather and our page for updates before heading over.

All reservations for Memorial Day are taken.

Our next open day is Wednesday, May 27 evening.

The recent rainy weather is causing problems with our parking area, so we’ll need to limit the Memorial Day Berry picking to appointments only so that we can spread the crowd out across the morning.

Each appointment is per vehicle.

We’ll open the orchard for pick-your-own blackberry and blueberry picking on Monday, May 25. Blueberries are especially plentiful. Blackberries are just getting started, but the cloudy weather is slowing them down. We will limit each customer to one gallon of blackberries so that later appointments might have a chance to pick some. They will really get going if we start to get some sun.

The fields are muddy, so bring your rain boots and possibly rain coats. If there is heavy rain or lightning, we’ll need to close the orchard. Sometimes we can wait it out if it’s a passing storm.

Available for picking:

blackberries: thornless varieties including Arapaho, Osage, Ponca and Caddo. Kiowa is thorny, but has excellent fruit. Limit one gallon per customer for Memorial Day.

blueberries:  Early-season rabbiteye varieties are available including Climax, Premier, Austin, Brightwell. Most of the Pink Lemonade have been picked, but there are a few available for the determined picker.

The weather may cause us to cancel the pick at the last minute, so be sure to check this page or our Facebook page for announcements before heading over.

New for 2026 season: we will start selling picked fruit by weight: $8 a pound.

Blueberries and blackberries are $8 a pound. You only pay for what you pick (no entry fee). We accept cash (preferred) and credit cards. As of May 2026, we’ll no longer accept Venmo. When paying by cash, we round down to the nearest dollar.

New for 2026 season: we will start providing bags to put in the buckets. Then we will have an easy way to weigh the produce. You can take the bags home or transfer the picked berries to take-home containers. Frequent visitors may be interested in our Waughsome Farm “Golden Bucket”.

We are a no-smoking farm. We cannot allow pets into the orchard or parking area.
